In the capital of Argentina, Vesna Humar visited a Slovenian care home for the elderly in Buenos Aires, Rožmanov dom, met with representatives of the Slovenian-Argentine Chamber of Commerce, and visited three companies run by Argentine Slovenes, aware that a strong economic foundation is of utmost importance for the preservation of Sloveneness worldwide.

First, she visited one of the plants of the Interpack company, which belongs to the HZ group, the business group of the Slovenian Herman Zupan. The company is one of the leading companies for the production of packaging in Latin America and is the largest company of its kind in Argentina. It supplies large international groups such as McDonald's and Unilever. The HZ Group is involved in the production of folding boxes, cardboard, foil, and foil products, as well as forestry and pig farming. The factories in Argentina, Brazil, and Chile employ close to two thousand people.

The State secretary also visited the metallurgical company Talleres Crovara, founded in 1959 by Jože Kržišnik. Today, the company is run by the second and third generations of the Kržišnik family. It employs nearly 40 people.

The State Secretary wrapped up the day with a meeting with representatives of the Slovenian-Argentine Chamber of Commerce. SloAr, which today already has more than thirty members, was founded with the aim of connecting both countries in the economic field, as well as compatriots who run successful companies in Argentina in 2021. With the desire to connect with the Brazilian market, which is more stable, flexible and larger, an agreement on cooperation with the Slovenian-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (SLOBRAZ) was signed in October this year. This shows a great desire to unite Slovenians throughout South America. The State Secretary expressed her support and sympathy for their activities, as the potential of this type of integration is extremely large and to the benefit of both the Slovenian community and the mother country of Slovenia.
