American state South Carolina is also a home state of the US Ambassador to Slovenia, Mrs. Jamie Lindler Harpootlian, who is largely credited with the visit, especially in providing conversational partners. This recon-firms the long-standing cooperation of SABA with the US Embassy in Slovenia.
First, the president of SABA met with Senator Dick Harpootlian and introduced him to SABA and the program for 2024, which can also include a visit to South Carolina.
Senator Harpootlian helped organise a meeting with Mrs. Sarah Simmons, the owner of three famous restaurants in the capital of South Carolina, Columbia. In the conversation, a principled agreement was adopted that Mrs. Simmons visit Slovenia in September, and in October SABA conduct Slovenia's promotion through Slovenian cuisine, that is, a continuation of the project "Gostilna Slovenia in US.”
This was followed by a meeting at the Economy Department of the U.S. Federal State of South Carolina, where SABA introduced themselves to Mr. Clarke Thompson (sector for International Relations) and Jon Baggett (Sector for International Economic Development). The continuation of cooperation of both sectors has been confirmed.
The last part of the visit was in the South Carolina Senate, where Mark Hendrick presented the work of the Senate, and then Senator Dick Harpootlian publicly presented and welcomed the presi-dent of SABA at the Senate session. During his visit to the Senate, the president of SABA also met with Major General McCarty.
Special thanks to this business visit are donations from Winery Črnko from Jarenina and Sedlak Winery from Obrež whose products were presented by SABA during the visits.
