We Slovenians are a nation of singing and dancing and have always liked to express our bitter and happy moments with heartfelt melodies and well-thought-out lyrics. With singing and dancing, we brighten up almost every celebration.
That is why the Office of the Government of the Republic of Slovenia for Slovenians Abroad has decided to celebrate this year's National Day as well. A musical greeting of Slovenians from abroad and emigration to our beloved Slovenia will be produced.
Choirs, musical groups, individual male and female singers, folklore groups and dancers, as well as occasional groups of all those who would like to congratulate their native Slovenia with music can participate and sing and dance the song Ljubim te, Slovenija zelena.
The procedure is as followed:
- Confirm you participation via e-mail to pr.urad.slovenci@gov.si and you will receive the instructions.
- DEADLINE for submission of recordings (audio and video) is June 2, 2024. For additional information regarding technical specifications, please contact audiopristava@googlegroups.com.
- The video will be published at the end of June, when our homeland celebrates.
You are cordially invited to join this heartfelt project. We also ask you to forward the invitation to as many choirs, groups, bands as possible that could participate.
