On September 13, 2023, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary held a ceremonial handover of the exequatur to the new Consul General of the Republic of Slovenia Dubravka Šekoranja.

New Consul General Šekoranja thanked the exequatur and highlighted the importance of the Slovenian and Hungarian nationalities, which contribute to the connection between the neighbouring countries. She advocated for the further strengthening of good-neighbourly relations and cooperation, also in the area of operations of the Consulate General of the Republic of Slovenia in Monošter, which includes two bordering Hungarian counties - Železna and Zala County. Among the priorities of her activities, she highlighted support for the Slovenian national community in Porabje and further deepening of cross-border cooperation.
