On June 29, 2024, Slovenians from around the world and the homeland met in Celje at the central event of the traditional Welcome Home event.

Dancing, singing and a warm atmosphere flooded the centre of the princely city. The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Slovenians Abroad, Matej Arčon, addressed the audience on the main stage and emphasised that "the beauty of this event is that we are connected, that we see how big Slovenia really is, how big our heart is and how much the participants of the meeting give to the importance of culture and preservation of the Slovenian identity."
