At the invitation of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia, dr. Robert Golob and the President of the Council of the Government of the Republic of Slovenia for Slovenians Abroad, a Council of the Government of the Republic of Slovenia for Slovenians around the world met today.

The meeting was attended by representatives of Slovene communities around the world and Slovene organisations working in the field of care for the preservation of Slovene's identity around the world, the Minister for Slovenians Abroad, Matej Arčon, ministers or state secretaries from the fields of economy, education, and of Foreign and European affairs, whose responsibilities are related to the functioning and activities of Slovenians around the world.

In the discussion, the members of the Government Council presented the challenges faced by Slovenian societies, associations and federations around the world.
